My Term 3 Reflection

WALT: to create a slide about our year.
I enjoyed creating the last picture because I took lots of photos.
The most challenging bit was thinking of things to talk about.
To be BTB I could have included a life goal, but it's kind of already included in the slide.

Noah Barleywater runs away...

This is the book that my group is reading at the moment for literacy. It is a fiction book. The main character is Noah Barleywater. He has no mum anymore and runs away from his home because he thinks he hasn't had enough achievements. He meets a talking dog and a talking donkey. He also meets a lot of angry puppets. He stays with an old man that sculpts wood and listens to a story that he tells. In the end, he does go home.

My new job...

In our class we have jobs. Not real jobs but jobs like cleaning the class and stacking the chairs. We have jobs on banqer. My job is the bank's helper. There are 3 bank helpers. They are Jason, Max, and I. When people don't pay the bank or do the wrong thing, the bank helpers come along and take out money. But we also pay people who are doing the right thing. Say the Librarian comes up and says 'So and so have been doing the right thing and have been helping others', the bank helpers would give them some money. I hope you learned a little bit about the banqer jobs. Do you have banqer in your class? Please comment! Thanks!๐Ÿ’ฒ๐Ÿ’ต

How many blog posts I've had over 2017, 2018 and 2019!๐Ÿ’ป๐Ÿ“Š

W.A.L.T. To make a bar graph about how many blog posts I've had every year/month.

The blue bars are the months in 2019, the red bars are the months in 2018 and the yellow bars are the months in 2017. In January I've had no posts, in February I've had 1 post in 2019 and 2017, in March I've had 2 posts in 2019, in April I've had 2 posts in 2019 and 1 post in 2017 and so on.

Compost assesment๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜

W.A.L.T. To create a form about composting.
My favorite part was changing the style of the form and actually doing the form.
The most challenging bit was putting it onto a new post on my blog because I didn't know how to.
You learn something new every day!
You can fill out the form yourself!

Potatoe chips

W.A.L.T. To make chips. We made the microwave version.
  1. Pour the vegetable oil into a plastic bag (a produce bag works well).        Add the potato slices, and shake to coat.
  2. Coat a large dinner plate lightly with oil or cooking spray. Arrange potato slices in a single layer on the dish.
  3. Cook in the microwave for 3 to 5 minutes

I enjoyed cutting the chips, but I didn’t enjoy cutting myself!

Hokey pokey

W.A.L.T. Explain the science in the hokey pokey.

We made hokey pokey. When we added the baking soda it all started frothing up because it released air into the mixture. I enjoyed getting to make hokey pokey because I like cooking. I found it challenging not to burn it. To improve it we could dip it in chocolate.
